Get to know Glasgow’s rising stars Dead Pony – “COBRA”

Dead Pony’s “COBRA” is a sign this band are ready to take on the world.

The origins of Dead Pony, having grown up as rare group of alternative kids in a working-class community in Glasgow, has defined their colourful, vibrant spirit that fuels the music they write today. After spending time playing together they collectively recognised their hearts and desires lie in the rock space. And thus, in April 2020, just as the pandemic had begun it’s timeline, Dead Pony made the music that they truly wanted to make. “For so long, we’ve felt like we’ve been too heavy for the conventional indie scene, but not ‘metal’, or ‘emo’ or ‘alternative’ enough to fit in anywhere else,” Blair Critchon (guitarist and lead composer) explains.“But I don’t see why Dead Pony can’t fit in everywhere. With the music we’ve started to make, it’s finally begun to feel like that might really be achievable. I guess we’ll find out…”

As we move closer towards the 2024 release of the bands debut album, we are given yet another taste of the energy and talent that this band has to offer. Touring around the UK in September 2023 this is your chance to get acquainted with the new gen of UK talent in venues where you can have those beautiful early moments to share the sweat with the band on tiny stages.

“Cobra” is out now via Lab Records.
