Fightstar announce 20th anniversary reunion show in London
Fightstar first burst onto the scene back in 2003, fronted by Busted frontman Charlie Simpson, they initially battled hard to earn the respect of rock and metal purists. However the one thing people could not ignore was the quality and authenticity of the songs and as soon as their debut album “Grand Unification” dropped in 2006, it was hard to deny that they were a serious force in the alternative scene. After touring extensively and releasing three studio albums, Fightstar went on hiatus in 2010 to focus on other projects before re-banding in 2014 and releasing their last album “Behind The Devil’s Back” in 2015. The reunion was short lived though as Simpson shortly after returned to write and tour with Busted. The band never officially called it a day and in 2019 Simpson confirmed that Fightstar would return at some point. Fast forward four years and the band have confirmed that they will be hitting the stage in 2024 for their first live show in almost a decade. The show will take place at the iconic OVO Arena Wembley in London on Friday, March 22 and will celebrate the band’s 20th year with special guest opening acts Twin Atlantic and Loathe.
Speaking on the return Simpson said: “Next year marks 20 years since Fightstar played our first show in a tiny night club in Northampton, mainly in front of friends and family… To be sat here today about to play our biggest-ever headline show at London’s legendary Wembley Arena is something that is hard for us to comprehend.”
”We are so thankful to all our fans who have been so loyal to us and we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with them. This will be a very special night for all of us.”
