Enter Shikari’s Rou Reynolds joins Blackout Problems for new single ‘GLOFS’
German rock outfit Blackout Problems have teamed up with Enter Shikari frontman and future touring partner Rou Reynolds on their brand new single ‘GLOFS’. The song is taken from their forthcoming album RIOT out February 23rd via Sony Music. The song is a driving electronically laced post hardcore anthem full of atmospherics, pop sensibilities, soaring vocal melodies and an important lyrical theme with the title ‘GLOFS’ being an abbreviation for Glacial Lake Outburst Floods and looks back on the flood disaster of the Ahr Valley in Germany, which killed hundreds and affected thousands in 2021.
Speaking on having Rou featured on the track frontman Mario Radetzky says: “At first, I didn’t believe that this idea could turn into reality. Then suddenly, two or three months after the request, I had a WhatsApp from Rou Reynolds with a Dropbox link. We took his first draft straight away because it was so magical and just fits perfectly! It’s a small lifelong dream that’s coming true for us.”
Rou Reynolds adds, “I was honoured to have been asked to jump on this song by my friends BLACKOUT PROBLEMS. It’s such an excellently sculpted track and I can’t wait to perform it with them on our tour together in Europe next year!”
Touching in the accompanying music video filmed in the Black Box at Fat Cat Munich Radetzky says: “For the first time in our band history, we invited fans for a shoot… Around 75 of them were present. Of course, they had no clue that Rou Reynolds would be there for the shoot as well. So the surprise was huge and everyone was incredibly happy.”
