Enter Shikari & Wargasm UK Team Up For New Single “The Void Stares Back”

 

 

The Shikari lads have been teasing new music for a while and it is finally here! Not only that but they have teamed up with hot noise makers Wargasm (UK)! The single is entitled “The Void Stares Back” and it delivers all the familiar Shikari-ism’s we love (yes we did just make up a word)! The song kicks off with some classic ES electronic elements from deep drum & bass lines and rhythms to big eurphoric synths as well as teasing some chunky riffs. Rou’s rap/sing verse is as good as ever and the huge singalong chorus has shades of TTTS era Shikari. Second verse, enter Wargasm with Milkie & Sam delivering their powerful back and forth vocals before joining in the chorus with some added harmonies and screams. No Shikari or Wargasm track would be complete without a big head-bang moment and the song doesn’t disappoint on that front either. Led in by Milkie & Sam, it’s a huge riff-y breakdown with some The Prodigy style electronics that is sure to go off live! Overall it’s welcome return for Shikari, blending plenty of the elements fans have come to love from the band over the years and if this is a taste of what’s the come on the next record then it’s going to be a good’un. The song also acts as a huge endorsement in the young career of Wargasm who have just been going from strength to strength over the past 2 years and helps cement their place as one of the most exciting acts around right now!
