Southern California punks Death Lens have announced their brand new album What’s Left Now?, set for release on 24th April 2026 via Epitaph Records. Alongside the announcement, the band have unleashed album opener ‘Monolith’, a raw, emotionally charged statement that sets the tone for what is shaping up to be their most fully realised record to date.
The follow-up to 2024’s Cold World and their second release for Epitaph, What’s Left Now? was produced by Zach Tuch (Knocked Loose, Touché Amoré, Movements) and finds Death Lens sharpening every edge of their sound.
Speaking on the new single, vocalist Bryan Torres explains: “Born with stones in my hands, I carry the weight my parents left behind. Forged under pressure, hardened by everything I had no choice but to bear.” He continues, “Monolith is born from a lifetime of hardship, weight and repetition. It’s my revelation that the role life gives you isn’t the only one you have to play. A testament to how being born with nothing became the source of my strength.”
What’s Left Now? arrives after two turbulent years for the band. Following the release of Cold World, Death Lens spent nine relentless months on the road, massively expanding their fanbase but also pushing internal dynamics to breaking point. The pressure ultimately led to the departure of two members, but rather than splintering, the band rebuilt stronger than ever.
Now operating with the addition of guitar virtuoso Ernie Gutierrez, alongside Torres, guitarist Jhon Reyes, and drummer Tony Rangel, Death Lens have never sounded more focused or more connected.
“Every time we feel like we’re gonna implode, we end up expanding,” Torres says. “We thrive on stress and the energy of anxiety.”
True to form, What’s Left Now? is an unfiltered record from a band that has always cut through the bullshit. Growing up in lower-income communities east of Los Angeles, Death Lens have never had a fast track — every opportunity has been earned the hard way. That perspective continues to shape their message.
“Our messaging is towards those who always feel like they don’t have a voice,” Torres explains.
Across the record, the band tackle everything from first heartbreaks (‘Am I A Drug To You?’) to the discomfort of radical self-honesty (‘Out Of My Skin’), while also confronting far heavier realities. ‘Saints in the Panic Room’ addresses the ongoing trauma faced by immigrant families in the US.
“I’m talking about the ICE raids, things close to home,” Torres says. “Immigrant families who don’t have papers. These are the struggles that we talk about every day.”
