Deaf Havana Release New Single ‘Car Crash’

Alt-rock stalwarts Deaf Havana have returned with a gut-wrenching new single, ‘Car Crash’, the latest taste of their upcoming seventh album ‘We’re Never Getting Out’, set for release on October 3rd via So Recordings.

A slow-burning emotional bruiser, ‘Car Crash’ sees frontman James Veck-Gilodi at his most vulnerable, reflecting on the quiet collapse of a relationship he knew was ending long before it was over.

“It’s really a pretty sad song for me… surprise, surprise,” James admits. “I wrote it whilst I was still in my previous relationship, but I knew it was coming to an end and I was full of very conflicting feelings and emotions. I didn’t really know how to navigate them without causing harm. It’s about that feeling when you know the magic has gone or maybe admit to yourself that it was never really there in the first place. I hope this song connects with people who are in the same situation and maybe helps them to know that there is a way through it and sometimes it really does work out for the best, however hard it may be.”

Despite its melancholic subject matter, ‘Car Crash’ feels like a turning point for James and the band — one that signals self-awareness, growth, and acceptance after years of internal conflict and musical reinvention.

If ‘Car Crash’ is anything to go by, the new album promises to be a raw, cathartic, and deeply human body of work — the sound of a band finding strength in honesty and clarity after years in the emotional wilderness.
