As the release of their debut album quickly approaches, Scottish four-piece Dead Pony have unleashed another huge single ‘Rainbows’. The Glaswegian’s are quickly rising in popularity with slots on big festivals as well is their own headline shows across the country. The electronic intro instantly kicks into that in your face Dead Pony sound we’ve came so familiar with in recent years and this track is a real statement of where the band are at as they explore different musical avenues with each release. Singer Anna’s vocals give off strong retro electro vibes with a more modern take reminding me a lot of an early Chvrches feel.
Anna speaks about the bands latest drop. “ ”RAINBOWS is a song about loving yourself. Growing up as a teenager, I always felt like a bit of an outcast and I never felt comfortable in my own skin. It’s only as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realised that being true to yourself is the most beautiful thing that you can be and that you don’t need to fit the mould to be worthy of loving who you are. This song is for 13 year old Anna and all of the other people out there who haven’t yet realised that their differences are beautiful. Just remember, no matter how bleak things may seem, Rainbows always come and things always get better.”
