CRYSTAL LAKE Release New Album “The Weight of Sound”

It’s a huge moment for CRYSTAL LAKE. The Japanese metalcore heavyweights have officially unleashed their long-awaited new studio album, The Weight of Sound, out now worldwide via Century Media Records. Featuring eleven tracks, the record captures CRYSTAL LAKE at their most dynamic, innovative and emotionally raw, pushing their sound further than ever before. It also marks a major new chapter for the band as their first full-length studio album with John Robert Centorrino on vocals, following his arrival in 2023.
From blistering metalcore and crushing deathcore influences to atmospheric electronics and immersive melodic moments, The Weight of Sound is easily the band’s most ambitious and wide-ranging release to date. That ambition is amplified by an impressive list of guest features across five tracks, including David Simonich (Signs Of The Swarm), Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), Myke Terry (Volumes), Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer) & Karl Schubach (Misery Signals).
To celebrate the album’s release, CRYSTAL LAKE have also dropped a brand new music video for the ferocious focus track ‘Everblack’, featuring David Simonich, a relentless visual companion to one of the record’s heaviest moments.
Guitarist and founding member YD describes the album as a defining statement for the band: “This record is a crossover masterpiece, infused with the years of experience and the attitude we’ve forged together. It’s a convergence of diverse styles that defines the present-day CRYSTAL LAKE. We invite you to immerse yourselves in our ever-evolving world.”
For vocalist John Robert Centorrino, The Weight of Sound is the most personal release of his career: “This whole new album is about the ups and downs of my life. The most personal I’ve ever been on a record. A lot of the lyrics reference each other. I wouldn’t call it conceptual, but it’s definitely a poetic diary-esque journey into my life. I cried writing 80% of these songs. I died a little bit again with each word. As I wrote, I relived. This is the real me. The story of a man you love to hate. Enjoy.”
CRYSTAL LAKE have also announced a massive European and UK co-headline tour for early spring 2026 alongside American metalcore titans Miss May I.
The tour will feature support from Great American Ghost and Diesect, and spans 21 dates across Europe and the UK including stops in Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, and a full UK run.
