CRASHFACE release chaotic yet stylish single “MANIAC” with Sam Matlock of WARGASM
An exemplary new era rock banger has arrived with the latest single from CRASHFACE. Following on from the bands EP release last year they’re back with a commanding new single ‘MANIAC’ featuring the perfect compliment to this raucous release, Mr Sam Matlock of WARGASM. Having a slightly more pop-sensability than their earlier releases, what the band have managed here is to create a huge sounding chorus and perfect build throughout the song towards their feature vocalist. Their video – filmed at the legendary Slim Jim’s dive bar in London – which is an excellent choice for a night out should you lean into the Forever Loud style of music. But the spirit and the sentiment of loud music first is definitely at it’s core. The track also signifiies the era of the LIFE AND DEATH IN THE WASTELAND EP due out September 13th.
Speaking of the project overall the band share: “This one is for embracing crazy. Continuing on from the story of ‘C.H.A.I.N.S.A.W’, ‘MANIAC’ persists with venom in expressing frustration with the modern world, specifically the music industry (The Wasteland), especially in what it’s forcing artists to do in order to be “relevant”. Our brother-in-crime JAW has made this video what it is and knocked it out the park yet again. We wanted it to maintain an Edgar Wright-esque jagged edge while staying true to our aesthetics, and I think we’ve nailed it. And massive shout-out to the legendary Slim Jim’s in London for letting us do this super last minute! I had the song idea for a while but got pretty stuck, then showed it to Sam while we were hanging out and he was all in. The man is chaos but it’s exactly what this chapter needed. And it’s a cute 360 because Sam actually helped me write and record the first ever CRASHFACE song, the solo in ‘System At It’ is him playing! So it’s pretty fitting that he’s helping us kick off our third EP.”
