Castlefest 2024: Showcasing the best emerging talent

The importance of independent music events and venues has never been highlighted as much as it has been these past few years, with venues across the country closing due to increasing costs and lack of funding, it has meant that emerging talent have increasingly fewer places to learn and hone their craft as a live act. It’s a hugely important aspect of music industry and one makes events like Castlefest a beacon of light in live music landscape. Taking place at The Castle Tavern in Luton, for the past 12 years Castlefest has delivered line ups that showcase the best in homegrown talent including the likes of Loathe, Snayx, As Everything Unfolds, Lake Malice and many more that have gone on to grace huge stages across the world.

2024 see’s another line up filled with rising stars and one that has got even bigger as Castlefest have announced the second wave of artists coming from all corners of the alternative music spectrum. The new additions include Mouth Culture, Scruffy Bear, The Throwaway Scene, Tooth Marks, and Screamingmechanicalbrain. They join an already stacked line up including Sick Joy, Love Is Noise, and Tally Spear as headliners across the three day festival. Every Hell, Deadwax, Oversize, and over 20 artists will perform on the main stage across the weekend. London’s biggest alternative club night, Face Down are also back to host the Saturday night after party.

Speaking on Castlefest, Paul Mercer, lead organiser, said “Castlefest is our Wrestlemania, our year culminates in September, bringing new and emerging alternative artists to Luton. Many of the acts that have played Castlefest have gone on to support the likes of Spiritbox, Skindred and many more. Its our chance to have a party and support grassroots music and the Castle Live music venue.”
