FOREVER LOUD gives you the full run down of BURN IT DOWN FESTIVAL 2024.
‘The gem of the southern festival calendar’, as its known to many heavy music fans in the UK, Burn It Down Festival is an event like no other, providing festival goers with intimate experiences from some of the biggest names in rock and metal on a backdrop you’d be hard pushed to find at any other event in Britain. The event rolls out across three venues all within three minutes walk of each other and houses a very impressive list of artists including headliners Creeper and WARGASM. Previous headliners have included Mallory Knox, Trash Boat, Deaf Havana and Loathe with the event aligning themselves with some of our favourites including Cassyette, Vukovi, Tigercub, Static Dress and so many more.
In order to kick start your schedule for the event we’ve given you a quick introduction to each of the acts playing and the handy official playlist tucked in at the bottom for you.

FRIDAY 30TH AUGUST
APPLE & PARROT
Calling all new music hounds and people searching for something a little refreshing for this venue’s offering. From the powermetal tinged sounds of Vaintas, the hard rock/metalcore inspired Darlah, genre-bending energy of Tropic Gold through to the post-punk leaning rock of headliners Enola Gay this broad palate is perfect to see some incredible new stars meet like-minded fans as you explore the new world of heavy music.
THE ATTIC
Metal and hardcore heads won’t find much need to leave The Attic. Two-steppers walk this way from the beginning where the likes of Downpour and Grief Ritual hold nothing back. Savage riffs and angry, animated vocal performances will be the theme of the day through the crushing discography of Pintglass. Note – the seemingly low ceiling of this venue will make for excellent crowd vibes and, without inciting such things, I’m sure attendees will see some crowdsurfing and throwing shapes throughout.
THE FOUNDRY
Welcoming some of the bigger names across the festival, The Foundry’s line-up for 2024 is the UK’s most enviable indoor festival bill. Get some early lunch as you’ll want to be there from the first band. Haggard Cat (Nottingham’s finest) are bringing super scuzzy bluesy rock to begin the day followed by back-to-back powerhouses of bands. Calva Louise fresh (ish) from touring around the northern hemisphere this year are playing with their famous sliding keyboard (built by the band themselves). Graphic Nature are fresh from winning Best Breakthrough Album at the Heavy Music Awards 2024 are insanely good live if you need solid wall-to-wall energy. BLACKGOLD really don’t take their masks off during their feisty set which will win over even the most stiff of attendees. And rolling through to WARGASM who are surely earning their stripes as one of the UK’s best modern heavy music bands. Their debut album ‘Venom’ is almost a year old and there’s undoubtedly some of our favourite songs of the past 2 years building from that record. Join the mesmorising performance of these headliners to scream, shout, sing and ‘spit‘ along till the final bar.
SATURDAY 31ST AUGUST
APPLE & PARROT
The Apple & Parrot’s line-up todya excels itself with a selection of The Newlist approved and Forever Loud loved talent. Opening with heavy heroes Carrier (Carrier UK if you’re looking on Spotify) and closely followed by the sassy, punk-fuelled Boss Cass it;s a good chance to loosen the joints. And for those of you joining for Saturday only, you’ll be thrown headfirst into acts like Mouth Culture who have an absolute swagger of a performance and super catchy riffs. Unpeople are having one hell of a year. Debut EP release, mega shows around the UK and Europe and a nomination for the Best UK Breakthrough Artist at the Heavy Music Awards 2024, so this would be a definite tickbox of the weekend if you’re looking for must-sees. Closing the stage will be Lauran Hibberd; an absolute treat, after releasing her second album and just ahead of playing a big UK headliner tour.
THE ATTIC
Southwest born and crafted, Born In Dissonance are first up on the heaviest stage of the weekend so expect to see a great kick start to the day with a local crowd alongisde fresh meat (aka fans). Throughout there’s some wild talent including beatdown princes Tempers Fray and the absoulte slayfest that is False Reality. Headlined by Splitknuckle who have the most piercing snare you could hope for in this genre, you can be treated to a full-on workout pit and glorious end to this snapshot into a growing and ferociously talented scene in the UK.
THE FOUNDRY
Day 2 doesn’t let up for quality when it comes to The Foundry line-up. Artio are launching the day following their debut album release (Babyface) in March this year and playing with the likes of Mothica around the UK/EU. Alt Blk Era have announced their debut album ‘Rave Immortal’ (coming 10th Jan 2025) and will bring their dynamic fun stage set Split Chain are such a refreshing band in the modern mix; sharing their take on grunge x shoegazery rock with solid riffs. Kid Bookie, Lake Malice and Ten56 are back to back fireballs so make sure you’ve got some food inside you and a beverage to hand as you’ll want to be witness to these forces of nature. Special nod to Kid Bookie who is both an excellent person for crowd banter and inclusion for everyone who comes to his shows, as well melting your face off with some pretty gutteral screams and vocal growls. Caskets are penultimate up after a couple of years of crazy memories and tours for the Leeds band who have played around the world, including prominent slots at major UK and internaional festivals. If you’re both a dabbler in chugging riffs and moments of chaos, but still love a great vocal lead and chorus to enjoy, Caskets will be a must for your weekend, with absolute anthems like “Glass Heart” and “Drowned In Emotion” to wail your heart out to. Save some of your voice and energy though for Creeper. The Creeper cult is real my friends and you’re all invited. This beautifully crafted show with visuals, stage sets and setlist combined is something you will want to say you’ve seen at least once. And whatever your disposition for heavy music you will enjoy this bands performance. The real question though is will Darcia the Vampire Familar join the gang and bring you into the Creeper Cult?
