BLUSH PUPPY’s retro influences shine on “UNDER THE WATER”

Taking inspiration from all your favourite 00’s genres, BLUSH PUPPY are channeling the heavyweight British and American juggernauts that are very much in favourite bands lists right now: Deftones, Turnstile, Split Chain, Boston Manor and so many more. This is taken from the bands debut EP ‘Here You Dream’ (due 27th March 2026 via Venn Records) and acts as a real point of catharsis for a band who are, as we all are, dealing with a lot of thoughts and pressures from our time on this earth.
Vocalist / Guitarist Ciaran O’Sullivan shares: “This song is a special one for me because it’s the only song on the EP that was born with everyone in the room. The idea came to life together, and the whole track feels like a true blend of all our voices, influences, and personal experiences. It offers a glimpse into the world inside each of our heads – a submerged, dreamlike space that’s deeply connected to the universe of ‘Here You Dream.’”
Opening to an Alice In Wonderland dystopia “UNDER THE WATER”, creatively, balances escapism with the feeling of being lost. It’s vibrant and full of little nuggets of cinematic beauty that accompany the track eloquently. (And I, as you will after watching, will want to know if drummer Harry Rogers did actually eat that rose mid-song):
