Swagger and intricacy in one powerful blast: Bicurious

Bicurious were formed in Dublin, but bring together influences and flairs from across the rock space geographically and era-wise. Biffy Clyro through Jamie Lenman, Royal Blood through flairs of meoldic spat from The Armed; it’s quite the beautiful cacophony. They’ve been playing around Europe since they formed the better part of a decade ago, but with their latest release and tease into their second album we’re given the chance to shout about them again. ‘Your Life is Over Now…’ is released 4th October 2024 via their new home with British label Big Scary Monsters and welcomes in a nre era of beautifully loud and riffy choruses.
On their first single ‘Acrylic Fences’, guitarist/vocalist Taran Plouzané comments: “I think this is the best song we’ve ever written, and it has a very special place in my heart. For me it has everything – groove, raw emotion, riffs, everything. Thematically, the ‘Acrylic Fences’ refer to the walls that one can build around them in a relationship, and how narrow-minded one can become trying to break those walls down. As this is our first fully sung release, it’s really interesting to me how people might react to it, and whether the words can hit listeners for them to relate in their own way.”
Playing with space and lighting that match the angular riffs and bouncing drums, Bicurious share their new single “Acrylic Fences”:
