BEX fires a riff projectile with new single “sunDAE”

Super playful with a commanding riff is how BEX starts her latest single “sunDAE”; a perfect concoction of earworm riffs, power distortion, hyper-pop licks and pop sensibilities. Leaning into the globally known English language nursery rhyme (no points for knowing which one) and stemming from one of those stereotypical British days (rain, grim, grey etc) BEX is bringing her new sound to the forefront after her debut EP release last year (2023).

“sunDae is about the expectation of having to be and look perfect all the time even when the world isn’t. The irony of the constant British drizzly days compared to the expectation of perfection that social media has put on us as a generation. We are requesting only the same from the weather as what the world expects of us. It’s a love song of expectation and disappointment. No one can achieve unrealistic goals and we all need to stop being so hard on ourselves all the time, social media isn’t real.”

In her super DIY world of hand-crafted merch items, custom instruments and self-directed, styled and produced content, BEX is a great artist to see live this summer across the UK at Girls, Gays & Theys Festival, 2000 Trees and Burn It Down.

BEX combines stereotypical British life, with ice-cream and wild stage performance in their new single “sunDAE”. And listen out for the cow samples in this track; subtle but brilliant in the mix!
