Basement Drop New Single “The Way I Feel”

British alternative rock stalwarts Basement have unveiled another taste of their highly anticipated new album, WIRED, with the release of the anthemic track “The Way I Feel.” Produced by John Congleton, the song leans into a raw, energetic sound, complete with a soaring chorus that evokes the euphoria of being lost in a packed, sweaty venue with friends.

Speaking on the track, vocalist Andrew Fisher said: “‘The Way I Feel’ is about standing on the edge of a really important decision, right before you make it. Constantly questioning whether you have the courage to stand up for yourself and fight your side, while at the same time begging for forgiveness and acknowledgement. My tongue is in my cheek quite a lot in this song – you need to decide when I’m saying what I mean or not. I love the simplicity of this song, and I love that the intro is the same audio sample that Al made on his loop pedal. I knew from the first time he sent that audio file that this would be a song.”

WIRED, out on May 8th, marks Basement’s first new album in eight years and a reunion with their original label, Run For Cover Records. Fans who have already caught glimpses of the album will be familiar with previous singles “WIRED” and “Broken By Design.”

This summer, Basement will hit the road across Europe, wrapping up with a performance at London’s All Points East Festival in August. North American dates are expected to be announced soon.
