As It Is Share Heartfelt New Single ‘Marilyn’

As It Is have unveiled their latest single, ‘Marilyn’, another from their forthcoming self-titled album due July 17th. The track is a hooked filled retrospective anthem that blends vintage alt-rock vibes with driving acoustic riffs. 

Accompanying the release is a music video shot in and around the band’s home of Brighton, offering a heartfelt homage to the people and places that shape our lives.

Frontman Patty Walters explains the inspiration behind the track: “It’s never felt easier to be a pessimist and nihilist, so writing a song about hope and humanity felt right. It’s about a near-stranger and their goodness making a big difference early on in your life, but how hindsight can make that difference even clearer. But it’s also about how people are never really gone – not while their words, actions, and values live on in the people their lives have touched. Good people are everywhere, all around us, all the time. This song is about them, and it’s for everyone whose lives are better for knowing them.”

The band will hit the road ahead of the album with a run of live dates across the UK and Europe, including headline shows, festival appearances, and in-store signings:
