AS IT IS release the ‘okay.’ era tracks from their ‘A Decade Uneventful: B-Sides & Rarities (2012 – 2022)’ compilation

Transatlantic pop-punk/emo quartet, As It Is, continues to celebrate their decade-long journey with the release of the second instalment of their B-sides and rarities collection. This special project offers a deep dive into previously unreleased tracks and will be previewed in stages, with today’s release featuring tracks from their critically acclaimed 2016 album “okay.”

“As we continue our journey back in time, part two of the rarities is focused on the Okay era,” shares the band. “That record was our fork-in-the-road album that opened many doors for us. Okay was the first record where we had written more songs than we needed going into the studio, and we’re excited to finally share some of those that didn’t make it with everyone, as well as alternate versions of familiar favourites!”

Reflecting on the personal challenges that shaped the album, they added, “Looking back on the summer of 2016 writing and recording that record out in LA, the band was struggling, and Okay definitely captures that. It was about masking all the negatives with a positive facade—and I think these raw and unfiltered songs that we’ve put on this rarities collection give a deeper dive into where the band was at during that period.”

The release of these rarities comes just after the band’s highly anticipated reunion announcement, with the original lineup back together—featuring singer Patty Walters, guitarist and vocalist Ben Biss, bassist Ali Testo, and drummer Patrick Foley.

“We started this band over a decade ago with little more than the hope of playing some shows with our friends,” says Biss. “It is in this spirit that we are reunited, so the only place that made sense to kick it all off was Slam Dunk. A festival the band has played five times over the past ten years and that has always supported, not only our band but the scene as a whole.”

The band’s close connection to Slam Dunk extends beyond festival performances, as they’re also releasing ‘A Decade Uneventful: B-Sides & Rarities (2012 – 2022)’ through Slam Dunk Records. “We’re excited that our relationship with Slam Dunk is evolving. The collection of B-sides and rarities is something we’ve been wanting to make happen for many years, and Slam Dunk Records are finally making our dream project a reality!” adds Biss.

Looking ahead to 2025, the band expressed their excitement for the future: “We definitely needed some time away from this band for us to realise how special it is. The response to our return has been truly mind-blowing and emotional for all of us, and we couldn’t be more excited for 2025!”

The journey will conclude with the band’s earliest recordings, “Blenheim Place” and “Two Track,” which will be available on streaming platforms for the first time.
