ALCHEMIZE smash R&B / Metal fusion with elegance
It’s pretty standard fare to have a clean and scream vocals in a modern metal outfit, but it’s rare to get 3 vocalists within one band that nail both the melifluousy of a R&B style and a gut-wrenching snarl between them all. Manchester’s ALCHEMIZE can and stand out in the global mix right now with just 6 singles release to their name. Stunning production and song-writing helps them step a firm foot into the metal scene and as they build up their live shows, it’s easy to see from early days these are talented creatives, ready to wow us with a huge live set.
“Only We Know” has an undeniable (and thoroughly enjoyable) chorus with big pop nods, but also offers us listeners the chance to ‘open the pit’ and get ready to have a friendly push around at various points in the songs too. Sing (and dance) like no one’s watching, whilst also pulling some serious stank bassface? It’s a big thumbs up from us.
Vocalise Adam Kenyan shares an in-depth build of the track: ” With Only We Know, we really wanted capture the raw emotion, focussing on betrayal, frustration etc from the perspective of someone who’s been taken advantage of by someone they once trusted. Quite a close to home song, we wanted to focus on a situation of someone taking something that’s not theirs and passing it off as their own. To make matters worse, they flaunt it without facing any consequences. Musically, the song mirrors the journey with its dynamic structure and emotional intensity. It opens with a hard-hitting intro that sets the tone, followed by a controlled but tense first verse, where the simmering frustration is kept in check. We wanted the chorus to really kick in, with raw passion and a catchy anthemic hook. The second verse explodes with aggression, featuring powerful screams and bouncy, hard-hitting riffs that channel the raw anger and resolve of the victim. A more composed bridge follows, reflecting the calculated reality of the tables turning, building anticipation for the final moments. The song closes with a strong finish, leaving the fraud exposed, isolated, and facing the shame of their actions.‘Only We Know’ is a gripping and versatile track that takes listeners on a rollercoaster of emotions, delivering a high-energy, cathartic experience from start to finish.”
