Static Dress Release New Single ‘…hospice’
Static Dress have never been a band to follow the rules, and with their latest single they are rewriting them all over again. Since emerging, the UK quartet have built a reputation as one of the most forward-thinking and incendiary forces in modern alternative music. Blending music with expansive world-building through visuals, graphic novels and even video games, the band have crafted a noir-inspired universe that runs parallel to their sound. It is a vision that has set them apart, earning critical acclaim, multiple awards, and high-profile tours alongside heavyweights like Bring Me The Horizon, Underoath and Knocked Loose.
Their debut album Rouge Carpet Disaster marked a defining moment for contemporary post-hardcore, now, Static Dress are gearing up to take things even further with their highly anticipated second album injury episode, landing May 29 via Sumerian Records.
Following the intense one-two punch of ‘human props’ and ‘Nostalgia Kills’ featuring Underoath, the band return today with ‘…hospice’. Leaning away from their more abrasive tendencies, ‘…hospice’ embraces a striking sense of dynamism through emotion and atmosphere. It is a lush, alternative pop-leaning track that showcases a new level of maturity in the band’s songwriting. Gradually building from expansive instrumentation into a soaring, stadium-ready chorus, the track feels designed for massive singalongs, an evolution that proves Static Dress are just as compelling at their most melodic.
Visually, the track continues the band’s commitment to narrative depth. The self-directed video places them inside a dark fantasy world suspended between past and present. Performing within a grand hall, frontman Olli Appleyard inhabits a purgatorial space, while a masked figure searches for genuine emotion, bending reality in the process. It is another piece of the ever-expanding Static Dress universe, blurring the lines between music and storytelling.
To celebrate the album’s release, the band are set to embark on a global tour throughout 2026, with more dates still to be announced.
